Gaming has always been a versatile and accessible medium with millions of players around the world. Gamers today can log into their favorite titles from almost anywhere, using almost anything. Now, mobile games are about to have a serious contender: Valorant Mobile is finally ready to go! In the latest update from the developers, Valorant Mobile has already begun beta testing exclusively in China and will soon be available across the world. In this blog article, we look at how the Valorant Mobile launch is making headway and share how excited we are to try the mobile version on our REDMAGIC devices.
Created by US developer Riot Games in 2020, Valorant is a 5v5 free-to-play first-person tactical shooter PC game that combines precise gunplay with unique agent abilities. The game was inspired by games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and borrows mechanics like spray patterns, item menus, and relative accuracy while on the move. The game is widely successful and has over 2.9 million daily players.
Since the announcement of the development of a mobile version in 2021, gamers have been waiting on the edge of their seats for the latest drop. Now, four years later, Riot Games has finally clutched a victory for mobile gamers. In a post on X, the official Valorant account announced:
“It's really happening. VALORANT Mobile has been announced with our partner LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS, and we're bringing it to China.
We're excited to bring VALORANT Mobile to as many players as possible, but we're starting in China and taking it from there. We will, of course, update you as our plans develop further.”
In the official announcement for Valorant Mobile, Anna Donlon and Andy Ho share that they have partnered with Tencent Games’ subsidiary, Lightspeed Studios, to bring the mobile game to life. From their research, China has one of the largest and most competitive mobile FPS communities in the world. Naturally, it made sense for the Valorant team to partner with Lightspeed, which is already a trusted developer in the region. This would allow them to start with more local expertise before finalizing plans to expand to other regions.
At its annual SPARK event in April, Tencent Games announced that it would host a closed beta playtest for Valorant Mobile on June 12, exclusively in China. According to Tech Node, the game has already surpassed 20 million pre-registrations across all platforms in China within just 6 weeks. The new Valorant Mobile game was built from the ground up for mobile users and not as a PC port. This means the game was crafted to dominate on a gaming smartphone. Some of the key features mentioned by the developers of Valorant Mobile include:
60–120 FPS support
Optimized HUD and touch control gameplay
Voice chat and spectator tools
Gyro aiming capabilities
Full roster of 16+ iconic playable agents from PC
Beta-exclusive mobile maps, like Shipyard and Ancient Village
Built-in replay system
Mobile-exclusive battle pass
Fast-paced matches with 8 rounds to win
Practice in training grounds and reward systems
The general sentiment with the launch can be labelled as cautious optimism. While gamers are excited to test out the new mobile legend, there are still some in the community who have questions. Positive feedback has already been received about the game’s polished visuals, smoother FPS, and the way it stays faithful to its PC version. However, some Redditors and testers have noticed issues with a cluttered UI clutter and the game’s aim assistance.
Many testers were impressed that the game could run great, “even on mid-range devices,” but some took issue with the UI having “too many buttons” despite its cool look. However, this is exactly what the beta testing stage is for.
Harsh Sharma for PC Quest noted that the beta test is an additional layer of quality assurance for Riot’s mobile adaptations, but that the one-month battle arena is also a testing ground for the high-end mobile devices that the game is targeting as well. The hardware requirements for the beta testing have already set a benchmark for gaming devices.

Sharma also shared that the minimum device specs for Android devices begin with Snapdragon 450 processors and 3 GB RAM, while iOS users need at least an A9 chip and 2 GB RAM. For those aiming at the best competitive performance, the bar climbs to Snapdragon 778G and Apple’s A15 chip, with 8 GB and 6 GB RAM, respectively.
Sharma also reported that early info suggests mobile-only features in the game that would make it stand out from the PC version include:
Built-in replay system for analyzing matches
MVP animations and post-match highlights
Integrated stat tracker with no external apps required
Short-form video-sharing platforms like TikTok
Global chat for cross-region interaction
Let’s take a look at the Valorant Mobile time to get a better idea of when the game might be launching globally.
China closed beta: June 12, 2025
Global beta: Rumored for late 2025 (November to December)
Global release: Expected around Q1–Q2 of 2026
If you are from China, you can simply head to the official website to pre-register for the beta testing right now. However, the rest of the world will have to wait a bit longer before getting their trigger fingers ready to go. While nothing is confirmed for now, the 25th of November 2025 is seemingly the official launch date in mind.

For more updates on the launch and global updates on Valorant Mobile, stay tuned to REDMAGIC and keep your gear ready.
After the widely criticized transitions of big titles to mobile, like Apex Legends Mobile and Call of Duty Warzone Mobile, it will be interesting to see how Valorant Mobile fends for itself. Hopefully, the game will launch sooner rather than later and avoid the depressing fate of Rainbow Six Mobile, which has been in beta for almost 3 years now. Either way, Valorant Mobile is set to make waves in the industry and you can count on REDMAGIC devices to be there to support every level.
