During these, there’s always a point where certain benchmark test names get thrown around, and you might not know what these mean or how they should affect your opinion at all. However, generally, contextual clues might help out on whether a specific score is good or bad. If not, we’ve provided a general breakdown of some of the most commonly used smartphone benchmark tests you might run into. 

  1. Geekbench 6: The Geekbench 6 measure is one of the most well-known CPU tests done on smartphones. Your CPU provides a general measure of how fast your device can complete tasks. Through this app, reviewers can assess a phone’s CPU performance by testing both single-core and multi-core performance to provide a score at the end. The single-core performance will reflect how the device handles low-demand tasks, like scrolling through social media or texting. On the other hand, multi-core tests show performance in more CPU-heavy tasks, like editing videos or gameplay.

With Wildlife and Wildlife Extreme tests, extreme graphics, cooling, and enhanced gameplay capacity are often put to the test. A 3DMark Solar Bay is a benchmark ray tracing test designed to measure gaming with ray tracing performance. Solar Bay also simulates a ray-traced 4K game.

Phone Arena’s tests for the 10S Pro also show the device also led the charge with a 3Dmark Extreme score or 7063, beating out the ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro, the ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra, and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.

  1. GFXBench: GFXBench is another test focused on GPU performance. The free, cross-platform, cross-API 3D graphics benchmark measures graphics performance, long-term performance stability, render quality, and power consumption.

  2. AnTuTu Testing: The AnTuTu benchmark is another popular performance testing tool for Android devices. It runs stress tests on various system components, like the CPU, GPU, memory, storage, and UX, to give an overall performance score. Generally, AnTuTu simulates demanding tasks to evaluate how each part of the smartphone performs under load. These include rendering complex 3D graphics, processing large files, switching apps rapidly, loading system UI under pressure, and managing RAM and memory speed. This test is often an easy metric to compare overall device performance.

  1. Battery Testing: As the name suggests, this is a typical assessment of a device’s battery performance. Many reviewers have different ways to manage battery tests, but they all center around how quickly the battery is depleted. Battery tests also assess charging speeds and determine how long it will take to reach a full battery.

Then, with the 3DMark graphics benchmarks, the 11 Pro continued to excel, leading the pack in Wild Life Extreme, Steel Nomad Light, and Solar Bay tests and averaging a 7.82% lead over the OnePlus 15, a staggering 59.6% lead over the iPhone 17 Pro Max in Wild Life Extreme, and a 36.8% average lead of Snapdragon 8 Elite-fitted Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
