How The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Upgrades Your Gaming
As the name suggests, there are quite a few improvements that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 brings to the REDMAGIC 7 Pro. Let's explore some of the most notable performance and design features of this chipset has and the new “game-changing” heights it is taking us to.
Battery Improvements
In terms of battery, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 packs the great Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 5 technology. Paired with the upgraded 5000mAh battery on the REDMAGIC 7 Pro, this makes for an all-round strong battery performance. Reviewer Redskull found that “it gave 6.7 hours of screen time in most situations'' meaning that the phone was able to power on solidly when used both for day-to-day tasks combined with gaming in between. Wired stated, “The size of the battery means you’ll get about a day of typical use at the smooth 120Hz refresh rate, even with some gaming scattered throughout,” meaning the battery power really allows users to test their limits between gaming and regular use, they further discovered that playing flat out on the device resulted in four hours of battery life, “depending on the game played, which is appropriately strong.”
Improved Perfomrance
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 boasts brilliant gaming optimization capabilities, and in the REDMAGIC 7 Pro, it’s clear. The Snapdragon’s Central Processing and Graphics Processing Units were brilliantly felt in the device. The Qualcomm® Adreno™ GPU has increased efficiency by an amazing 25% and renders graphics at a 30% faster rate than before. The device’s graphics performance further consistently scored high on several AnTuTu Benchmark tests with a few reviewers including Sami Lou Tech who remarked that it was the amongst the best AnTuTu benchmark scores he had seen at a strong 1041075, and TechTablets who achieved a score of 1032757, adding that it consistently maintained top performance during use. Additionally, the REDMAGIC 7 Pro scored a higher GFX benchmark than all the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor-powered devices. This is to be expected of a phone built to accommodate professional-level gamers.
The Qualcomm® Kryo™ CPU makes for a fast interactive experience, allowing for quick scrolling, swiping, and tapping as well as high-efficient task commanding. Because of this, the processing abilities are four times better than previous processors. Launching games and applications is more seamless than ever and without any interference or lags.
Audio Enhancements
While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 audio is powered by Qualcomm’s Aqstic™ technology, the REDMAGIC sound is powered by the Redcore 1 chip, which was placed in the device to take on some of the more lightweight tasks such as the audio and lighting, freeing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 to tackle the heavier tasks such as games and applications. But the audio on the REDMAGIC 7 Pro is simply great. in terms of audio, Tech Tablets states that says about it “It’s loud, it’s good, it’s clear, and for gamers, it’s absolutely perfect,” so gamers don’t have to compromise on audio quality. It is even better when paired with the REDMAGIC 7 Pro’s reintroduction of the 3.5mm headphone jack, something gamers will certainly appreciate (because what’s a gamer without a set of headphones?”
Better Cooling
The cooling is another fantastic feature the device boasts. The powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor is paired with an immaculate 20000 RPM fan to cool it down. By allowing more through the phone, cooling is improved as 33% more air is released from the device, while decreasing the processing noise by 40%. There is also little to no throttling which makes for a smoother gaming experience.
End Result?
The REDMAGIC 7 Pro, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is the phone you want for an improved gaming experience. Pair all that power with the endless screen, the gaming controls, and the powerful processing of the REDMAGIC 7 Pro and it is the perfect portable gaming system.
