Upcoming Games We’re Hoping Release In Time For The Holiday Season
Most games that we’ve been hyped for this year are already out, but there are a couple that are slated to be released at the end of this year and we are really hoping they come out. Unfortunately, all we can do right now is hope because these two games don’t have any confirmed release dates yet, just the promise to be released by the end of the year.

We first saw this game when it was released in China. It looked cool and it was well received too. So here’s hoping that holds true as it is eventually released worldwide.
In this Harry Potter game, you get to create your own character and start your life in the magical world of wizards and witches as a first-year student at Hogwarts, the most prestigious wizarding school in the world. That alone kinda sold us right out of the get-go. The chance to live your own unique life and story in this magical world instead of through the eyes of an established character in a story we already know is very exciting.
Gameplay-wise, it is primarily a card-collecting game with a healthy blend of RPG elements as well. As a first-year student, you will find which house you belong to, take part in a variety of classes, and even play Quidditch. The full Hogwarts experience sounds like.

Rainbow Six is a classic team-based FPS game on PC and consoles and we are so excited to play it on mobile, we sometimes need to be reminded to breathe. While no specific release date has been announced yet, they just closed their Close Beta earlier this month, so it can’t to much longer of a wait now, right? Right!?
So far, what we do know about the game thanks to their website, is it looks like it will be an attackers vs defenders style of game and mostly indoors. So think Rainbow 6 Siege. We also know who the attacking and defending operators will be when the game first launches. If there will be more in the future or not, we’ll have to wait and see.
Something we do know for certain though is that this game was practically made to be played on REDMAGIC phones!
Games We’ll Definitely Be Playing This Holiday Season
While we don't know for sure when the above two games will be available to play, these two games are available right now and we’re definitely going to be playing them for hours on end this holiday season.

This is maybe the best card-collecting game I’ve played yet. I know, them be some fighting words, but I’ll stand by my words and fight on this hill! This game is legitimately amazing. Unlike other card-collecting games like Magic the Gathering or Hearthstone, there isn’t much combat, crazy I know. Instead, it plays more like Gwent from the Witcher series.
In short, you build your deck of cards, and you go toe to toe against an opponent over control of three zones. The player with the stronger cards in the zone at the end of the match wins the zone. Win 2 out of three zones and you win the match. Oh, and these matches are insanely fast, with only 6 turns. So you could play through 10 games of Marvel Snap in about 20 minutes maybe, they go that fast.
It’s an easy game to pick up and play and like all card games, the basics are just the tip of the ice berg as we learn that there are different types of zones that could appear in the game with different rules and the hundreds of different special abilities from the cards as well. The depth that this game has is intense and we love it for it. 10/10, we are definitely going to be playing some Marvel Snap this holiday season.

We covered this game not too long and because of the time we spent playing it then, we’re kinda hooked. Torchlight Inifinite is a great ARPG game and its bright cheerful colors, fun gameplay, and decent loots make it an almost relaxing game to play. It’s, hard to imagine an ARPG as relaxing, but when you have your build figured out and you’re just killing waves of monsters, there’s something therapeutic about it.
Also, some exciting news, since the last time we wrote about this game, they’ve released a new spell caster for us to play with. We’re still hooked on our little robot horde-making dwarf so we haven’t tried her out yet, but she looks like a lot of fun. Maybe that’s what we’ll do this holiday season, reroll this new caster and see how awesome she is.
Offline Game, What?!
I know what you’re thinking. We live in an age where it’s super super easy to access the internet and play our games online whenever and where ever we want. You’re not wrong, except when you’re traveling by plane! That’s right, it’s the holiday season so what do a lot of people do besides see their friends and family? They TRAVEL to see those friends and family, like on an airplane. And for those of you in a car, don’t forget that good cell phone service is guaranteed everywhere you go when driving around, you’re likely to run into a bad spot on occasion when it isn’t your turn to drive. So in those quiet, dark moments of true horror when there is no data, it’s good to have an offline-capable game to pass the time.

Crazy as it may seem there is not only a fun pirate game that blends old cannon naval fighting like Assassin's Creed Black Flag but it also has DRAGONS! It’s like some Game of Thrones shit here, and somehow, it works!
When playing the game offline, you still experience the same gameplay loop as if it was online. You play a match, defeat the other team, get some resources, and return to the harbor. At the harbor, you unlock more ships and level up the harbor for more resources and the like for better ships and equipment. A fairly simple loop. The game even does a loading screen for “matchmaking” when in offline mode which while a little surprising at first, seems to be normal. It also creates randomly generated names, perhaps the most common generic names for the region you last logged into.
Gameplay-wise, you are controlling your vessel with cannons in the front, on both sides, and at the back. You have control over your ship’s speed of either 0, 1, or 2. You could also go in reverse but it’s super slow. Once you set your speed there is no need to continue holding the button. For finding your opponents, you have a periscope to zoom in and the game will indicate when you are in range to fire your cannons and when you can fire them again. We found that if you turn your ship, you can get the other cannon groups on target and fire before the first cannon shot has reloaded. So sailing in a zig-zag pattern towards your opponent will lead to the best DPS.
But what about the dragon? Well starting with the first ship you unlock, you unlock the dragon. The dragon can take off and fly around, attacking the other ships. When it does this you are in control of the dragon. The flying is fairly simple, with no up or down but it is a fun, simple mechanic and does devastating damage. A drawback that you need to be careful of is your ship is not doing anything while you’re controlling the dragon. So it’s best to hide behind an outcropping of rocks before flying off with the dragon.
We found this game by chance and are quite happy that we did. For an online game, it is probably too simple but for a short period of offline play, it’s a pretty solid choice.
