This chip’s Kryo CPU also performs 35% faster than before, reaching processing speeds of up to 3.2GHz.
Qualcomm is already predicting our future by making preparations already for us to upgrade to and embrace WiFi 7. In the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the chip will be future-proofed and ready to use WiFi 7 architecture and the engineers at Qualcomm are looking forward to it. They say that WiFi 7 is expected to be more than twice as fast as WiFi 6 and the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chips are ready and waiting to make the most of that screaming new WiFi speed.

Through the power of AI, the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is not only faster, but it is also more power efficient. Meaning it can run the same apps and features as before but with even less power now, thus capable of performing even greater feats than ever before. How power efficient is it? The engineers at Qualcomm say its CPU is 40% more power efficient.
As mentioned before, the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is future-proofed with the inclusion of WiFi 7 technologies. These help it to not only have a faster WiFi experience, but also a more stable one. The same is also repeated for the chip’s 5G features thanks to its Qualcomm 5G AI Processor, improving the 5G speed, latency, stability, and 5G coverage.
The engineers at Qualcomm also pushed the Adreno GPU to its limits this time and have unlocked every PC gamer's holy grail feature, ray tracing. For powerful smartphones that can handle it and games that implement it, mobile gamers can enjoy the graphical wonder that has been only available to high-end PC gamers for the longest time now, ray-tracing graphics in their games. (What the mobile gaming developers do with this has yet to be seen, but this alone is super exciting.)
