Gamescom Is On! - REDMAGIC Review
Gamescom is live this year, both in person and online. For those of us online, we can see all the highlights on their website, showing all the games on display this year that are coming out soon and already released, along with live feeds, videos, interviews, and more. This year they are showcasing a loooot of cool-looking video games for various platforms, like consoles, PC, and of course, mobile. Let’s dive in and take a look.
A Quick Look At The Best
There’s lots of games at Gamescom and lots of categories to look at, but let's cut right to the chase and start at the games that Gamescom say are the best of the best. Games like the System Shock Remake. At Gamescom they award the best games in their category the gamescon award and it is here that we will find the best of the best games. They split the games up based on category of course and interestingly enough have 3 winners per category, sometimes the same game winning and being shown in multiple categories.
Winning Games To Keep An Eye Out For
This open-world MMO-style RPG for mobile and PC players has already been out for a couple of weeks but it has hit the world by storm in popularity, and it is not hard to see why. Striking on the same popular veins as Genshin Impact, this Tower of Fantasy may be the next uber-popular open-world RPG. Focusing more on community interactions, you can make your own character that gets new powers and abilities based on the weapons they are using and you can even swap your character for a character you can get in Tower of Fantay’s gacha system. Your main character though you can fully customize to your own style and because the community is so big, you can play with other players all the time in this open-world game, taking on dungeons and world bosses with hordes of other players at any time. We plan to give this a go on the REDMAGIC 7S Pro soon and look forward to seeing all of you playing the game with us.

This action-packed roguelite FPS game was actually originally out on PC in 2021 and is truly a lot of fun. As you play through the game, you start with one hero character and unlock more as you progress. Each hero has unique abilities and stats that make each one play differently. In addition to the differences in heroes, you will be picking up different guns and equipment each run through and each gun requires a different play style as well. Seeing this fun game come out to mobile is a real treat and we’re looking forward to playing this one as well. The game is out right now and can be picked up at the Google Play Store. Unfortunately though, Gunfire Reborn costs $6.99, but it’s well worth it.

Some Other Games That Peaked Our Interest
Since gamescon isn’t just about mobile games, it’s about all video games, it would be remiss of us if we didn’t mention at least a couple of these other games that we can’t wait to try on PC or console.
Personally, I like fast-paced action games, and the Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is right up my alley. It’s a lot like other first-person co-op action games where it is a team of four against endless hordes and your job is first to survive, second to complete the level. In this game, each playable character comes with their own unique skills and load-outs, giving each character a different play style all their own. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide will be available on PC and Xbox Series X|S on November 30th.

Another game I’m really looking forward to trying is this Metroidvania-style game with a Lovecraftian-themed story. It’s quick, it’s action-packed, it’s mysterious, and it is destined to test the limits of your sanity, like any good Lovecraftian story. In this game you play as the detective Benedict Fox on his last detective case as he investigates a series of murders in a very creepy house. As you learn more, you will uncover a parallel universe under our own called Limbo and have to continue your investigations in both the real world and in limbo. Like any good Metroidvania game, you will acquire cool abilities and items as you play and fight horrible monsters and other dangerous entities that can transverse limbo and the real world. Coming out next spring on the Xbox Series X|S.
