We have brought an in-screen fingerprint scanner to make unlocking the phone more convenient. The turbo fan design has been expanded by 56% from the REDMAGIC 3S and improved upon with the addition of an inlet vent. We have even opened up room to make use of Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful chipset, the Snapdragon 865, which also includes a 5G modem. The back of the phone is also gorilla glass instead of aluminum metal and all of this still fits in a comfortable size of just 9.75mm of thickness, an ideal size to fit in the palms of your hands for hours of gaming.
How long of a gaming marathon can you get out of the REDMAGIC 5G with a 4500mAh battery though? It will depend on how you use your own REDMAGIC 5G, but we noticed in our own testing and from among other users, that the battery was giving an impressive display of stamina, going a full day from average use or even a couple days of just a little use. At Techradar, when they tested the REDMAGIC 5G out, they could often play games for a few hours a day in addition to normal activities like messaging and web surfing and still go a day and a half to two full days before recharging.
Infact, TechNick on YouTube, put the REDMAGIC 5G’s battery to the ultimate test to see how long the battery would last. For his test he went into the settings and put everything to the max, max 144Hz refresh rate, max screen brightness, max gaming performance settings, easily making it the most powerful smartphone in the group. TechNick then made sure there was nonstop activity such as movie watching, intense game playing and more at all times for all the phones until they ran dry of power. It took a solid 6 and half hours, before the REDMAGIC finally needed to recharge. That’s effectively half a day of straight gaming.
Using the 55W PD Quick Charger (sold separately) TechNick recorded the REDMAGIC 5G recharging from empty to full in just 43 minutes. An astounding speed that is sure to get gamers back into the game faster to continue their gaming fun.
As we mentioned before, using the 4500 mAh battery opened up some room in the REDMAGIC 5G for which we used some of it for an improved turbo fan. By increasing the size of the cooling area by 56% and adding an inlet vent, the entire REDMAGIC 5G stays cool all the time, an important benefit to the battery since heat can damage the battery. The fan can also be turned on while the phone is charging to keep the battery from overheating. Therefore the improved turbo fan also increases the overall lifespan of the battery.
Other advanced hardware in the REDMAGIC 5G is also working to help optimize the battery for the best performance, such as Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 865 5G chipset, which can extend the battery lifespan by up to 200 days. Inside the new Snapdragon, we have the new Kyro 595 CPU which dynamically adjusts the power it draws from the battery to be more efficient on its power consumption, saving power when it can. The new chip also uses new AI tech to monitor overall condition of the battery, ensuring it is at its most optimal, working at its best for you without damaging itself and degrading its lifespan.
